Guidance for Managing Contracts During COVID-19 Outbreak

In an effort to follow recommended social distancing guidelines, the Business Contracts Office (BCO) is working remotely, but is fully operational. All of our team members are available to assist during normal business hours. However, our general phone number (512-471-2866) is not being monitored. If you need assistance, please email

The BCO continues to assist the university CSUs and departments with their normal business contract needs (including new agreements and amendments), as well as termination and modifications of agreements specifically related to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak and response, the BCO knows many contract managers and contract requestors at the university are seeking guidance on whether to terminate or postpone agreements. We are here to help you and your department maneuver through this ever-changing situation, and hope the following guides will provide you with useful direction.

If you are unable to find answers to your questions regarding a specific contract or a specific issue you have encountered, please reach out to us with your questions at If you have questions regarding a specific agreement, we recommend attaching a copy of the fully executed agreement to your email.
